Weekly Check-Ins

A Check-In functions as a way for management to get up to speed on the state of the employee in the Check-In.

They are scheduled by the manager when the engineer is onboarded. Typically, the morning is the best time.

The Check-Ins are generally 1 hour long, take place once per week, and consist of the dev discussing topics that are important to themselves and their progress as an engineer. As a manager, you can use this time to really get an idea of what is important to those who work for you. An engineer that is consistently late or brings nothing to discuss is not a good sign.

You'll see on the onboarding script how important our Check-Ins are to the functional success of our team.
